Spring is a magical time in the Fraser Valley and no wonder with trees like this stunning heritage magnolia in full bloom. This location made for a perfect spot to get a full body shot featuring Eloïse's pretty prom gown.
Eight designers were challenged to create a Balmain-inspired gown from recycled bed linens provided by the Fairmont Waterfront Hotel and dye provided by Tintex Fabric Dye. This look was created by Project Runway Canada (Season 2) Designer Kim Cathers and featured this amazing cut-out mermaid skirt, super detailed jacket and pleated blouse that was a knockout on its own as well.
Oh man, I loved working with this collection and designer, Matilda was beyond sweet and so gracious with her time. Her designs are created with inner tube tires and the models had so much fun playing with the clothes. This was one of my favourite looks from the collection and also fav models to work with. Also named Matilda, this hot mama brought her daughter to her fitting one day and was so well manner, I just fell in love with her. Such a great show Matildax2!! xx
Although all images captured from this session was intended for personal use, this image has flown around the internet and I currently use it to promote my styling services. I had envisioned this shot ever since I picked up the Hudson's Bay Company vintage blanket. For the entire back-story on how this picture came to life, read the full blog post here.
This collection had the most amazing handbags and accessories! All handcrafted in Columbia by local artisans, it really made this runway collection pop off the catwalk. I loved Lis Suarezeye for colour and her amazing mens shirting dresses. So cool!
Jason's collection was like every thrifter's dream. Consisting of items found at various Value Villages around town, his bright collection was modern, fun and fresh. I mean, who else could use a visor as a necklace and make it work? Only this guy.
These.pants. I've been hounding Jason for these pants all week. i don't think he's going to give them up but a girl can try, right? Also, Itse is such a babe and was in a couple of collections I worked on. She was so sweet and was perfectly poliet when I butcharded saying her name over and over again. I think by day two I got it right...
Oh man, I hate to pick favorites, but this was totally my fav collection to work with. Wendy was such a great collaborator and this entire collection was created alongside Haida artist Reg Davidson. These pieces were luxe, told a beautiful story and had the most beautiful movement to them.
One of my favourite parts about working on this collection was the fact that many of the models were Elders and so patient for our fitting. They brought this collection to life and were such pro's! Love love LOOOOOVED this collection and can't wait to work with you again Wendy!!
I must have something, ANYTHING from this collection. Flying out of YVR anytime soon? Keep you eyes peeled for this collection in the airport as a beautiful welcome to Vancouver. Gah. I can't get enough!
Project Runway Canada (Season 2) Designer Kim Cathers was such a gem. I loved fitting this look and it was such a pleasure getting to know Kim and her inspiration for this look. I love what you did to finish the shoulder Kim, amazeballs! xx
I adore you, Jason Pillay! Such a pleasure to work with, we knocked these looks out in no time and had a blast whilst doing it! The models were awesome and this bright collection was a great way to end my workday at Eco! Great show babe, you killed it!
Collaborators Reg Davdison (L) & Wendy Van Riesen (R). I got to work with Wendy a couple days before her show at fashion week and she was so amazing. Her designs were out of this world and her vision was so crystal clear. What a privilege to work with this talented local designer!!
